Sunday, June 20th, a Streetly couple are holding a Fathers 'Day fun event to raise money for the local branch of Cats' Protection. Entertainment will include a bbq, with ice cream and drinks, a bouncing castle, a tombola, hook-a-duck, splat the rat, and a chance to meet a life-size version of 'Felix the Cat'. The free event will take place between 10.00am - 4.00pm at 43 Queslett Road East.

Monday, 21st June is the start of Walsall's 'Bike Week' organised by Walsall Council's cycling officer and the District Centre Team. The first session will be held at 'Simply Delicious the coffee shop on High Street, Aldridge between 8.00am - 2.00pm, where there will be a free workshop to help maintain bikes. Saturday 26th June Ladies Pamper Evening from 7.30pm raising funds for Parkside Preschool. The event will take place at Streetly Community Centre, Foley Road East, Streetly. Tickets cost just £3 and include a welcome drink. Stalls include beauty products and treatments, holistic therapies, cosmetics, cards, gifts, shoes, handbags, books, artwork, jewellery, tarot reading and more...Refreshments will be available, cakes, strawberries and cream, chocolate fountain, non alcoholic drinks. SEPTEMBER 2010

Wednesday, 15th September Local History Group meeting at All Saints Church, Foley Road East from 7.00pm - 9.00pm. Laurie Hornsby will be remembering the Birmingham of the 60s. Laurie is a Birmingham born musician, author and playwright. He played with the Raymond Froggatt Band and supported Carl Wayne and the Move. He co-wrote 'Wallop Mrs. Cox', a musical about a family of Bull Ring market traders, and 'Ridin' the Number 8' - a look at the old inner circle bus route. His first book 'Birmingham Rocked' recorded the heyday of rock and roll in Birmingham from the mid 50s to 1963. His follow-up book 'Brum Rocked On' revisits the haunts and venues that played host to the 1960s music revolution and looks at the characters and musicians of that time. Admission £2.00. Disabled facilities, and parking, available.
