For a friendly, efficient family practice, register with Dr. Andrew Thornett and Dr. Zarish Rodrigues our new female GP. We now have a new Practice Manager - Lee Gillam, and a new phlebotomist. Blackwood has formed a Patient Participation Group (PPG) which has already played a major role in bringing about welcome changes and improvements. The group meets on a monthly basis and all patients are invited to attend. The PPG has been heavily involved in the development of a new website for the surgery. This is actually something that is going to be rolled out across Walsall, and Blackwood PPG has developed many of the criteria for what will be included on the sites. It wil also be involved in drafting a new set of guidelines for the practice to ensure that no patient without internet access is disadvantaged by this new development. We have been chosen to be the pilot site so will be the first to have a new website in operation.

Physiotherapy

A walk-in physiotherapy service is now available at Anchor Meadow Health Centre in Aldridge from 0900 - 1100 hours Monday to Friday. The service is also available by appointment only, from 1100 - 1600 hours. Phone 0845 113 0602.

A new self-referral physiotherapy clinic has been introduced at Good Hope Hospital in order to cut waiting times. Patients can book an appointment to see a physiotherapist without having to go to their GP. For more information call the booking line on 0121 424 9053.
